Not the best quality but a good book none the less

Not the best quality book. Flimsy with a poor paper quality but does the job for our family read. I'm currently reading it to my 8 year old who would struggle with the language but enjoys the story. The first book of the series so actually tells the beginning of the story. Although it has a religious content, without the knowledge of the connections you would be oblivious of this. It was talked about at Sunday school so my children were eager to read it. My 10 year old could read it himself but it did not hold enough interest for him at the beginning. To be honest it was a slow starter to keep children engaged. But a good book by a famous author and a valuable part of my children's collection.

The real first Narnia book

I never knew that there was a book preceding the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe for years. When I did I always meant to reads it but never got around to it; now I have and I must say its a decent read. As with a lot of children's books it would have been better reading it as a child, but as an adult it's a nice story. The religious overtones are there (this is C.S Lewis after all) but it doesn't hamper he story. Overall a nice little read.

It was so nice rereading this book as an adult as I'd forgotten the details and was good to be reminded of them, like the singing of Aslan and the witch's home world
