To Catch A Thief - the novel, not the film

To Catch A Thief is best remembered now as a Hitchcock movie starring Cary Grant. The source novel by David Dodge is for the most part more interesting than the film. The main female character is far more interesting as she carries a slight mystery.Anyone who enjoys an undemanding crime story with minimal violence and sex will find David Dodge's novel worth reading. It's no great masterpiece and it would be easy to point out its shortcomings, but sensible people who read for pleasure and who do not approach a novel with negative attitudes will be pleased.

Lost in a fantasy world

This book is written in a style of a bygone more laid back world of the 1950s, charming in it,s style and structure, you can see where Mr Hitchcock found the outline of his film with Hollywood's two most beautiful people.
